PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The hiring range for this position is $23.31-$29.14/Hourly.

This is classified as a VHNE (Variable Hour Non-benefit Employee), this position do not provide medical benefits. The position earns sick leave in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplace Act.
OVERVIEW OF POSITION / DEPARTMENT
Provides general administrative support and performs complex clerical duties for the Aurora Fire Department Community Risk Reduction Section. The Community Risk Reduction Section provides prevention resources to the community by promoting awareness, education and proactive safety measures, including education, inspection and investigation.
This part-time, variable-hour position is expected to work in the office for a maximum of 20 hours per week.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responds to routine record requests and miscellaneous open records requests for the Community Risk Reduction Section
Assist the public by answering questions posed via phone call or email
Provides support for meetings; coordinate agendas, meeting back-up, transcribe minutes
Use Outlook calendar to schedule appointments, and monitor and plan special projects
Types and processes of a variety of materials including correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents related to the assigned function
Composes, proofreads, and formats a variety of documents that include letters, memoranda, and reports
Directs internal and external customers to appropriate parties
Maintain trusting relationships with suppliers, customers and employees
Performs additional duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & WORKING CONDITIONS
An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Experience:
At least two (2) years' experience in administrative support role
Prior experience handling office responsibilities, experience in customer service, or related field
Knowledge:
Knowledge of business English, spelling, and math
General office equipment, including personal computers with related software applications
MS Office Suite
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, problem solving, analytical and managerial skills.
Skill in the use of computers including spreadsheet design, database programming and word processing software applications
Excellent organizational and time management skil
