About the role

Here at MMB, we work as part of the @one Alliance and we are part of a totally collaborative organisation made up of other partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MWH Treatment, Skanska and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

We continue to prepare for our most exciting and challenging Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, this will see us deliver a programme of work larger than we’ve ever delivered before. We’ll be embarking on a new kind of project delivery focusing on nature-based solutions like wetlands and sustainable urban drainage schemes. To help with the delivery of these exciting projects for Anglian Water, we are building a team located in Spain to offer support remotely. There would also be the requirement to visit the UK (Peterborough) office for team meetings and site visits.

We are driving change, empowering us to set global benchmarks and build a better environment, with the opportunity to offer enhanced growth and development to our workforce. We’re looking to build on our existing teams with an environment built for career progression.  With such an exciting portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to keep the water flowing across the region, our ability to manage our work and outperform against our customer’s expectations will come under greater scrutiny.

Your Purpose

As a BIM Technician, you will utilise advanced BIM applications like Plant3D, Civil3D, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap to develop intelligent 3D models that meet industry standards and support the construction of water and wastewater treatment infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality models that integrate health and safety considerations, while innovating and driving performance.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Create, amend, and maintain detailed 3D models based on design team instructions, using Revit and Plant 3D to create high-quality designs for water sector projects.
  • Develop and model pipe and duct routes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Work collaboratively with the design team to integrate specifications, installation details, and supplier datasheets into your models.
  • Support the integration of health and safety considerations into design processes, ensuring safe and maintainable systems.
  • Ensure your work is completed in accordance with agreed timescales and aligned with the project’s BIM and data management procedures.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing feedback and industry best practices to enhance the BIM model.
  • Collaborate with engineers and project teams to ensure project objectives are met, participating in regular team meetings.
  • Embrace new digital technologies, continuously improving performance and reducing carbon footprints in designs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team environment where diversity is celebrated and all voices are heard.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Plant 3D software, with experience creating 3D models and engineering drawings for water infrastructure projects.
  • A diploma, degree, or equivalent qualification in a relevant field (preferred but not essential).
  • A strong understanding of industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 19650, PAS 1192) and BIM procedures.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and civil disciplines (preferred).
  • Experience with Navisworks and Recap for model coordination and visualisation.
  • Ability to generate and interpret detailed engineering specifications and drawings.
  • A proactive approach to learning and development, with a keen interest in embracing new technologies and improving efficiency.
  • A commitment to safety, ensuring all designs comply with CDM regulations and health and safety practices.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced BIM Technician to work on high-impact water sector projects. By joining our team, you’ll have the chance to develop your career, expand your skill set, and contribute to innovative, sustainable solutions that benefit the environment.
