 JOB SUMMARY

This Solutions Director is responsible for the product planning and execution for Altera’s revenue cycle solution. This includes gathering and prioritizing customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing, and support to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction. This senior-level associate has no direct reports.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify market problems, looking for unsolved problems that are both urgent and pervasive and that healthcare leaders are willing to pay to solve.
  • Define market requirements that communicate problems to be solved and who we are solving it for.
  • Monitor and analyze solution metrics to assess how well solutions perform, including actual to planned revenue, usage stats, operations SLAs, customer satisfaction, market share, and profitability.
  • Capture "Voice of the Customer" for use in innovation strategy and planning future solution enhancements.
  • Contribute to the solution vision that supports strategic plan; updated annually.
  • Review market research on users around a specific solution innovation and describe the solution to be offered, including solution positioning and messaging for key buyers.
  • Prepare or contribute to business cases for proposed solutions, providing an objective analysis of a potential new market opportunity to be used as a basis for investment decisions.
  • Create market-facing roadmaps to communicate vision.
  • Evaluate buy/build/partner opportunities for extending our solutions, including business cases to support the recommendation and ongoing management of the partnerships.
  • Manage customer commitments for capabilities not currently part of a production release.
  • Manage customer advisory groups around specific markets/solutions to discuss existing solutions and future innovation ideas.
  • Provide sales support assistance as needed, including RFP boiler creation, solution design leadership, and product advocacy.
  • Review competitive analysis by tracking competitor product features and market share; contribute to a competitive differentiation strategy.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, IT, marketing, finance, or business-related field, or equivalent years of experience

  • MBA preferred
  • Pragmatic marketing or similar product management certification

Work Experience

  • 14+ years relevant work experience; 2-3 years at the principal level or equivalent experience
  • 8 years’ experience in product management, marketing, or program management within healthcare information industry
  • 5+ years’ experience in revenue cycle management (RCM), in a healthcare setting
  • 3+ years of experience in managing and implementing revenue cycle applications preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of the revenue cycle process, including billing, coding, collections, and reporting
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to influence decisions in a matrix environment, including senior-level leaders.
  • Able to think creatively and to contribute to both strategic and tactical decisions.
  • Able to understand and interact with technically oriented team members.
  • Able to understand and articulate business implications of technical issues.
  • Strong analytical ability: able to define complex problems and creatively frame solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead large, cross-functional initiatives or projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong market and customer-centric orientation.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with market-facing functions in the organization.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
