This is the role

We’re looking for a Director of Business Intelligence & Analytics Engineering to own our data strategy and to bridge complex data engineering and the overall business strategy.

You’ll lead a team of brilliant engineers, and will be the architect of our data-driven culture, ensuring that the right foundation (data, tools, and capabilities) are in place to enable teams across the organization to operate in a truly data-driven way. Your team does not only build dashboards; rather, you focus on building and maintaining the data and technical capabilities that makes analytics possible.

The role is based out of either Copenhagen (HQ) or Berlin and will report directly to our Chief Finance Officer.

What you'll do:

• Strategy & Vision: Define and drive the global BI and analytics engineering strategy. You own the mandate for recruiting, tooling, and the BI budget.

• Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and support a high-performing team of analytics engineers. You’ll foster a culture of accountability, growth, and "better together" collaboration.

• Stakeholder Sparring: Act as a strategic partner to leaders across Content, Growth, Finance, and Product. You’ll interpret their needs and translate them into scalable data solutions.

• Single Source of Truth: Oversee the development and maintenance of our central data model, ensuring data integrity and a unified view of our performance.

• Scaling Operations: Ensure our BI infrastructure is efficient, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices. Ongoing alignment with our Tech team regarding planned changes that affect operations and/or best practices.

• Data Governance: Define standards for visualization and modeling, ensuring our data is not just accessible, but trusted and documented.

This is you

We’re looking for an experienced manager and a true team-player. You thrive in fast-paced environments and enjoy the challenge of building something that scales. You see the details, but you never lose sight of the bigger picture.

Experience we’re looking for:

• You have a proven track record (likely 7+ years) in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering or Data Analytics, with significant experience leading and growing teams in a tech-first environment.

• You have a strong understanding of and previous experience with data engineering, BI, and modern data practices. Experience with cloud data platforms and BI tools is essential. Familiarity with GCP and dbt is a big plus, though not required.

• You lead with humility and integrity. You’re a mentor who empowers your team to take ownership and move fast.

• You can translate technical concepts and priorities for non-technical stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions at the executive level.

• You are curious by nature and courageous in your decision-making. You aren’t afraid to test, learn, and iterate.

• You are able to balance business needs with technical solutions while keeping the data machine well-oiled, introducing efficient and scalable ways of working.

Naturally, being passionate and knowledgeable about podcasts, audio content, media, and entertainment is a big plus!
