Description

SUMMARY: Providing safe and quality food is the job of all House of Flavors employees. The Maintenance Technician, an at-will employee working under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Shift Supervisors, responds to the maintenance needs of the facility with a high degree of urgency. The Maintenance Technician repairs and maintains electromechanical and electronic equipment for internal customers throughout the operation. Our Maintenance Technician routinely performs assigned preventative maintenance and project maintenance work through the Preventative Maintenance and Work Order Request System. All Good Manufacturing Practices and general safety practices are observed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.) Responds promptly when called to troubleshoot malfunctions on plant production and processing equipment and, using basic hand tools and PLC panels, makes appropriate adjustments or repairs to keep the plant safe and operational.

2.) Performs accurate and on-time production line set ups working cross functionally with Production and Quality team members.

3.) Maintains plant equipment through the Preventative Maintenance Program or other maintenance scheduling.

4.) Specifies and fabricates parts as necessary.

5.) Maintains all equipment and tools that enter the plant in a sanitary fashion, observing all company food safety practices and standards for maintenance.

6.) Provides part information to the maintenance part purchaser as needed and participates in maintaining part organization.

7.) Supports the Maintenance Department’s parts and tools organizational system by putting parts away, alerting Maintenance Inventory Specialist of parts at reorder point and maintains good housekeeping.

8.) Completes all required paperwork promptly and accurately.

9.) Works as a member of the Maintenance team, learning the jobs of different workstations included in this job description, enabling the ability to rotate from job to job giving breaks or filling in when other employees are absent.

10.) Performs other duties including but not limited to assisting with production, clean up, sanitation and inventory.

11.) Completes all other duties as assigned, including working with the Maintenance Manager and other managers to enhance the overall profitability of the operation.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility to the appropriate company standard. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma with a focus in industrial arts or equivalent is required along with electromechanical aptitude and a minimum of 6 months of work experience in a related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience. The ability to work co-operatively in a team environment is essential. Trade school education is preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write in order to follow instructions; create and respond to documents; understand and follow company policies; and effectively present information verbally to others.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and ability to perform mathematical calculations and understand numerical specifications including temperature measurements, time calculations and decimal weights.

REASONING ABILITY: Is mechanically inclined and has the ability to apply education, training and common sense understanding in carrying out written or verbal instructions in the set-up, maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery.
