Department:  Process Management

Reports to: Director - Purchasing
Location: In Office, Orange CT

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $111,545 - $139,431

Job Summary

The Purchasing Manager will manage support issues related to Purchasing applications, assist with process improvement projects, develop training guides and lead user training sessions.  Additionally, the Purchasing Manager will support the Purchasing organization and Business Partners by managing supplier onboarding, providing SAP access support, and fulfilling all department reporting needs.  They will also provide support on special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

The Purchasing Manager for Process Management will support the Purchasing organization with a range of responsibilities, including:  

  • Provide support to suppliers, Purchasing Team, and Business partners to ensure responses to RFPs are completed on time.

  • Responsible for generating and maintaining various reports, including KPI’s, Purchasing Control validations and Global requests. Prepare presentations for board members and upper management based on reporting and training needs. 

  • Maintain department databases, ensuring data is accurate and complete.

  • Primary point of contact for Purchasing Team members, Delegated Buyers, and Business Partners, related to the SAP system, regarding Purchasing setup.

  • Provide user training sessions on how to submit SAP Ariba Sourcing Requests and Delegated Purchasing PR requests.  SAP Ariba subject matter expert for Catalog Purchasing, Delegated and Centralized Purchasing process.

  • Assist in the validation of new supplier configuration to ensure they have completed Avangrid’s supplier onboarding requirements. In case of any issues, work to resolve them. Identify opportunities to improve / simplify supplier on-boarding process.

  • Assist with Training of new Purchasing Team members or when training is requested by the Business. Develop reference and training guides on Purchasing applications and processes.

  • Work with the Purchasing Process Management Team on process improvement projects and new initiatives.

  • Work alongside Purchasing Process Management Team to coordinate information requests from internal and external audit as well as regulatory agencies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related discipline. Master’s Degree in Business or related discipline is preferred.

  • Experience in Purchasing sourcing methodology.

  • Minimum two years experience with SAP Ariba preferred.

  • Strong oral, written, and presentation related communication skills.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Proactive and Analytical Thinker: demonstrated ability to manage a high degree of complexity and to distill information, able to think strategically.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish (beneficial).

  • Minimal travel requirements – as needed.
