Job Details
Under the direct supervision of the Lead Linen Distribution Associate and Environmental Services Supervisor, the Linen Distribution Associate is responsible for the collection, inventory and distribution of hospital linens and uniforms and to provide an adequate supply of clean, sanitary linen to all user departments.Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. • Provide clean, sanitary linens to all user departments, including stocking carts for patient units, scrub dispensing units, and department linen dispensers. (50%)
• Picks up soiled scrubs or linens and maintains awareness of linen inventory. (30%)
• Maintains equipment-uniforms, clean carts, and supply closets to give the hospital a professional appearance. (10%)
• Must comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation, and other hazardous substances. (5%)
• Maintains awareness of linen inventory and notified supervisor of any shortages. (5%)
• Respond to pages or phone calls in a timely fashion.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Description
Education:
High School Graduate or equivalent preferred.
AND
Experience:
6 months to 1 year of experience in housekeeping or cleaning in a healthcare environment is preferred but not required.
*This position requires working biweekly weekends and rotating holidays*
