As a Line Technician, you will work as a pivotal member of our line operation team, ensuring the manufacturing or wrapping machinery in our factory are set to standards, and basic maintenance tasks are carried out. This role requires that you adhere to all Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures in order to keep you and others safe; all Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) that are in effect in order to assure a consistent quality and quantity of product produced.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Ensure proper setup of the packaging line before and during a job run
· Ability to operate, setup, change over and make minor repairs to various packaging equipment
· Follows all procedures set forth in the setup procedures
· Assistance with line attendants and mechanics
· Compliance with company policies and procedures
· Training on Packaging Operations SOPs and cGMPs
· Runs the various packaging line equipment
· Troubleshoot rapidly and effectively to ensure minimal line downtime
· Work and coordinate with packaging team and support groups
· Adhere to and promote safe work practices and procedures
· Basic set up and operation of manufacturing packing line equipment
· Cleaning and sanitizing operating equipment
· Dumping / rework operation
· Batch documentation
· Quality checks (metal detector, inspection station, label back coder & visual finish goods inspection)
EXPERIENCE:
· Prior experience working in a manufacturing/packaging environment
· Experience with cGMP compliance requirements is strongly preferred
· Must have prior mechanical and/or manufacturing machine operator experience
· Possess the skills to troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunction of equipment
· Ability to understand and implement 5S Method
· Experience in lean manufacturing environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Visual acuity to inspect product and read labels and documentation
· Physical ability to stand for most of the day (5-8 hours a day) and to regularly work on raised surfaces and climb stairs or ladders.
· Physical capability to repetitively lift and carry 25 lbs for up to a height of 4 feet and for a distance of 4 feet for 5-8 hours a day. Frequently from 26 – 50 lbs for the same height and distance for 3 – 6 hours a day. For proper lifting and carrying, squatting is frequently required
· The role may require pushing and pulling a fully loaded pallet jack or lift (~500 lbs) for extended distances.
· Physical ability to repetitively bend and twist at the waist and neck and to reach above and below shoulder level to reach for product, components or equipment panels
· Frequent and repetitive use of both hands is required for simple grasping, power grasping, fine manipulation
