Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern to be based in Buffalo, New York.

This position is expected to begin in May 2024.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Perform assignments requiring an application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.
• Exercise judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Prepare engineering-related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids.
• Develop solutions for routine technical problems with limited scope.
• Work under the supervision of a project engineer or senior-level team member.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirments:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in a university program pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related field with the intent to continue after the internship, unless graduating.
• Candidates must have completed two years of study in their program.

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Experience with AutoCAD.
• Experience with ArcGIS.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License preferred to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices when public transportation is not available.

• This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in-office work in Buffalo, New York. The selected candidate must be available to work in Buffalo, New York on a scheduled basis. 
• Non-Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (New York locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.  The hourly range for this position is $18.58 - $25.55/hr.
