The Opportunity

As the Project Billing Accountant, you will have the opportunity to:

Be responsible for invoicing of assigned projects and ensures contract terms are followed regarding correct billing rates and schedules
Be responsible for intermediate to moderately complex level billings
Work closely with Project Accountants and Project Controls personnel
Answer Project Management questions regarding project billing criteria and invoice drafts
Work under close supervision

Key Responsibilities

Generates, audits and distributes draft invoices and/or credit memos to Project Management for review based on understanding of contract. Obtains appropriate approval and distributes accordingly.
Ensures billing rates or billing schedules are correctly attached to projects & match contract terms.
Researches past due invoices and collaborates with project teams on collection activities.
Collaborates with Treasury to clean up “on account” cash receipts.
Researches and responds to project invoicing related questions as requested. Provides basic analysis and recommendations.
Complexity and volume includes at least one of the following: joint ventures, reporting in currencies other than domestic, on-shore/off-shore, multiple contracts, multiple task orders, and/or purchase orders.
Coordinates research and analysis activities related to invoicing as required in support of client requests and the annual B&V audit activities.
Creates / maintains up-to-date training materials for Project Billing team. Presents regular training opportunities for Project Accountants and Project Billing Associates.
Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvement.
Primary internal clients are project managers, project accountants, project controls, finance managers and/or finance supervisors.
