About the role

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director of Executive Compensation to work with the VP Total Rewards, CHRO and other key leaders to lead the design, implementation, and management of executive compensation programs. This role will play a critical part in ensuring our executive pay practices are competitive, aligned to our mission and support our long-term business objectives. The ideal candidate will bring experience, technical expertise, intellectual curiosity in executive compensation and a track record of successful stakeholder management at all levels within the organization. As a key member of the Compensation team, this role will also be the lead project manager for several corporate-wide programs and processes as outlined below.

This role requires 4 days/week onsite, based at our Corporate offices in Sleepy Hollow, NY with 1 day/week working from home. This is not open to fully remote-based work arrangements.

A typical day may include:

  • Together with the VP, Total Rewards, CHRO and key stakeholders within Regeneron, lead the development, implementation, and ongoing management of executive compensation programs, including base salary, annual incentives, and long-term equity awards
  • Prepare materials for Compensation Committee meetings, including developing presentations, analyses, and benchmarking data. Partner with internal and external partners to ensure materials are timely and relevant
  • Through analysis, data gathering and collection of anecdotal information, ensure executive compensation programs align with company strategy, shareholder interests, and market practices
  • Directly responsible for end-to-end survey participation and data analysis for executive compensation, including third party surveys, proxy information and other publicly available data
  • Partner closely with the Stock Plan Management Team to lead all LTI analyses for all employees, including executives and nonexecutives globally, resulting in recommendations for strategic changes to the Company’s LTI programs
  • Work with Compensation Team, Talent Acquisition, HRBPs and leaders to provide counsel on compensation matters tied to executive hiring, promotions, and retention
  • Develop new tools and analyses for the organization that support the attraction, retention and motivation of our key executives and tie closely to the Company’s talent, succession, and performance management objectives
  • Lead the development and execution of communications materials, training programs and engagement opportunities for executives, including onboarding upon hire and/or promotion to executive level
  • Provide thought and project leadership for the Total Rewards budget and budgeting process, acting as key point of contact for FP&A team
  • Provide program/project management as needed on future total rewards projects with organization-wide impact

This role may be for you if you have:

  • Deep knowledge of executive pay principles, equity compensation, and related regulatory requirements (SEC, IRS, FASB)
  • Experience supporting Compensation Committees and preparing executive-level compensation materials
  • Expert analytical and financial modeling skills; advanced proficiency with Excel and market pricing tools
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engender trust from senior leaders and to influence using diplomacy
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity
  • Ability to influence without direct authority

To be considered for this role you must possess:

  • A Bachelors degree or equivalent in a relevant field of study
  • At least 10+ years of progressive experience in high-paced, high-growth environment
  • Experience in a publicly traded company, executive compensation consulting background and familiarity with the life sciences industry strongly preferred
  • Experience with benefits, and broader total rewards, especially in the executive space highly desired
