Dow has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a P&SP IT Business Relationship Specialist! This role can be located in Midland, MI; Houston, TX; Sao Paulo, Brazil; or Terneuzen, Netherlands. The role will align to Dow's Design Your Day approach and allows employees flexibility by choosing when to work remotely and when to attend on-site activities based on project work and role needs.

About you and this role

The P&SP IT Business Relationship Specialist uses expanded conceptual and practical knowledge in their own job discipline and supports the maximization of the value of Dow's IT investments and capabilities by working with Dow businesses to understand their business strategies and define a business IT strategy. With moderate guidance, you will begin to define implementation projects for the business, the value of these business projects, and ensure that the business projects are understood, prioritized and delivered by the IT organization.  This role requires a combination of technical, functional, business and soft skills to act as an IT “Account Manager” with the business. As a Business Relationship Specialist, you will help to define and validate the Dow IT strategy to ensure it will accelerate Dow businesses strategies.

This role will enable the P&SP business strategy of 1) Operational Excellence, 2) Growth, and 3) Sustainability by driving the planning and delivery of both digital and traditional IT solutions for the business. To do this effectively, you will need to be excellent at building relationships across Dow's largest business and with all key IT delivery teams. Project/portfolio management skills are also important to be able to coordinate the many initiatives underway for the business.

Responsibilities

• Strategy - Uses expanded conceptual knowledge, begins to define the business IT strategy to addresses its unique needs while leveraging core IT capabilities where appropriate.
• Account Management – Engages with business leadership to understand their multi-year goals. Develops an account plan to enable these strategies.
• Relationship Management - Begins to build relationships with business leaders, decision makers, and other key influencers in the business, and enables trust and streamlined decision-making.
• Business Strategy & Technology Portfolio – Pursues business knowledge and an understanding of business strategic “pillars”. Uncovers gaps in business capabilities. Conducts project opportunity assessments and helps prioritize addressing new business gaps vs. business investment affordability.
• Service Adoption – By applying understanding of key business drivers, promotes existing IT solutions to business based on need/value. Represents service feedback from the business to IT.
• Spokesperson / Communicator - Articulates the business strategies to IT and is able to influence IT strategic directions that fit the business needs. Similarly, articulates IT capabilities to businesses to provide business value.
• Idea / Project Shaping & Execution - Assesses opportunities and business value, facilitates requirements gathering, and represents the business “voice” in projects.
• Mergers, Acquisitions, Divestitures - Engaged in M&A&D activities, particularly in early stages, to ensure seamless and successful execution.
• Escalation - Provides one escalation point for Business issues. Acts with initiative and provides complete follow-through on business issues.
• Knowledge - Operates across a wide range of business, functional, and technology environments at both a strategic and tactical level. Has a strong understanding of systems, IT strategic planning process, and program management.
