Arts and Wellness Clinical Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
The Arts and Wellness Clinical Manager will provide strategic clinical oversight for all Arts and Wellness programs, serving as the primary liaison to healthcare partners and systems. This role is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and achievement of intended outcomes across all programmatic offerings. The Manager will collaborate with internal stakeholders to co-design, supervise, and support programming and partnerships, while leading efforts in evaluation, research, outcome communication, and stewardship of clinical relationships.
Utilizing expertise in both clinical practice and arts in health, the Manager will assess program and participant needs, recommend best practices, inform innovative approaches, and offer guidance to the Center’s leadership, artistic staff, and partners. Additionally, the Manager will work closely with the leadership team to support the overall vision, strategic planning, and operational management of the Arts and Wellness portfolio.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate with Community Engagement, Programming, and Education teams on the creation, planning, implementation, oversight, and evaluation of Arts and Wellness programs, including quality improvement, program evaluation, and research initiatives.
• Oversee current Arts and Wellness program initiatives at the arts center, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and community needs.
• Design, implement, and evaluate systems that ensure safe and effective outcomes-oriented delivery of Arts and Wellness programs.
• Serve as the primary liaison to healthcare partners, fostering the development and stewardship of clinical relationships.
• Manage partnerships, including development of agreements, plans, timelines, communication structures, and evaluation of clinical partnerships.
• Provide clinical supervision to staff artists, as well as artistic volunteers, interns, and other program contributors. Oversee the work of research assistants and associates.
• Develop and oversee training programs for artists, ensuring preparedness to deliver programming tailored to specific populations and health-related concerns.
• Develop and manage appropriate communication structures to ensure program safety and efficacy.
• Represent the organization on committees and working groups within partner institutions and the broader community to support collaborative programming and partnerships.
• Collaborate with the appropriate stakeholders to develop systems for artists to report and reflect on their work.
• Manage program evaluation, quality improvement, and research projects.
• Ensure compliance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements for all evaluation and research activities, including securing approvals and maintaining regulatory adherence.
• Ensure all program activities are conducted in accordance with institutional policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Report and publish outcomes and impacts in alignment with program goals.
• Follow and support all operational policies and procedures. Assimilate into the arts center culture through understanding, supporting and demonstrating the core values.
• Maintain a professional and friendly relationship with other departments, colleagues, and partners.
• Able to remain calm under pressure. Ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy. Maintain Dr. Phillips Center standards of customer service at all times.
• Able to effectively communicate in English in both written and oral forms.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Masters degree (e.g., MS, MA, MPH, DNP) or commensurate clinical education in a health discipline, such as nursing.
• Training in quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research.
• Evidenced understanding of arts in health discipline.
• Five years of work in a clinical profession, such as nursing, clinical social work, medicine, or other allied health professions, OR
• Five years of work in health administration, AND
• Five years of work in a clinical setting, such as a hospital or clinic, AND
• Three years of research experience.
• Experience with quantitative, qualitative or mixed methods research and/or evaluation.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
• Three years of research experience, with evidence of successful research, design and publication.
• Clinical license in nursing or other health profession.
• Experience working at the intersections of the arts and health.
