Job Description

THE POSITION: This position is responsible for actively growing revenue with current and prospective clients for the Compliance service line, which includes services such as medical information, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs and quality. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams.  These results are achieved by:

  • Building a pipeline of key strategic targets and quality opportunities in the Compliance marketplace, with priority focus on near-term revenue growth.
  • Providing regular pipeline and revenue updates to both the Compliance and Commercial BD Leadership teams and ensure accuracy in the CRM.
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-selling with other service lines across the organization.
  • Engaging with fellow Commercial BD team members to create a positive team dynamic and following the established Rules of Engagement for hunting new accounts and opportunities.
  • Meeting or exceeding quarterly sales and revenue goals.
  • Proficient in use of analytical and reporting tools and techniques, particularly Excel, Salesforce.com and PowerPoint.
  • The right person for this role is an independent, assertive, and confident business development professional. They must be a hands-on self-starter, who has been successful driving new business in a complex sales environment, ideally with existing sales background and senior decision-maker relationships with life science clients in the Compliance field (medical information, pharmacovigilance, regulatory affairs and quality)
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
  • All other duties as assigned 

EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Travel: Up to 50%
  • Hours: Full Time Position requiring flexible hours to meet client/customer timelines

Qualifications

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the experience, education, knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Education Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field
  • Experience and/or Training 5-10 years of progressive, relevant business experience required in business development in the life science industry.  This should include direct experience selling compliance (MI/PV, regulatory, quality), and an established network in the industry.
  • Technology/Equipment Intermediate to Expert computer and Microsoft Suite skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Independent, assertive, and confident business development professional. Hands-on self-starter, who has been successful driving new business in a complex sales environment.
  • Hungry and eager to achieve goals, focused on sales-generating activity, thoughtful and flexible in how best to tackle the market, and a good sales teammate.
  • Skilled at articulating in a consultative manner to customers the value of new and transformational commercial solutions, and how it may be applied to solve healthcare challenges and complex service issues
