Position SummaryThe Executive Director, External Communications, is responsible for developing and executing Amicus’ external communications strategy globally, with focus on product, pipeline and research communications.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and execute external communications strategies about Amicus’ products, pipeline, and R&D
- Drive news flow for product, pipeline, and research-related milestones, including for rare disease medical meetings and company publications
- Lead proactive and reactive media engagement related to products, pipeline, and R&D, including in support of Amicus’ R&D leaders
- Work with brand and country teams to support objectives for products and pipeline candidates
- Contribute to the Amicus branding and narrative and overarching internal and external communications strategy
- Develop, implement, and measure digital engagement strategy across channels globally
- Collaborate with Corporate Affairs, Investor Relations, Patient & Professional Advocacy, and broader teams on Amicus’ overarching internal and external communication strategy
- Support issues management through scenario planning and communications
- Track and measure programs and initiatives for impact and to improve programs
Requirements
- Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Professional Work Experience Requirements
- Extensive experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology external communications, including product and R&D-related
- Track record of developing and implementing successful, measurable multi-channel communications strategies
- Experience and Skills
- Demonstrated patient focus, passion for rare disease and alignment with Amicus Mission Focus Behaviors
- Strong industry and R&D understanding with ability to thrive in a fast and dynamic environment and drive results under tight deadlines
- Excellent written, verbal and digital communications skills
- Collaborative self-starter
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and insights to drive decision-making
Travel
- Limited travel (domestic and international)
- Position is hybrid with required days in the office being Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Amicus Compensation and Benefit Summary
- The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is between $295,000 and $312,000 year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to the base salary, employees may be eligible for various benefits, including health insurance, retirement plan (401K), paid time off, performance-based bonuses, stock options, restricted stock units, and other discretionary awards. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided during the hiring process.
