Position Title: Senior Banquet Manager

Reports To: Director of Operations

Salary: $90,000 to $105,000

Other Forms of Compensation: Bonus

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the banquet department, leading all aspects of event execution from pre-function setup through post-event breakdown.
• Manage and mentor banquet managers, servers, housemen, and bartenders to ensure seamless service and consistent quality.
• Serve as the senior operations lead on high-profile, large-scale events and VIP functions.
• Partner closely with the Banquet, Culinary, and Event Management teams to ensure flawless coordination and guest happiness.
• Monitor event timelines, room sets, and service execution to ensure BEO compliance.
• Mentor and develop management and hourly staff; provide training, feedback, and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate labor forecasting, scheduling, and payroll compliance within budgetary guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with local health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Address and resolve guest concerns with urgency and integrity.
• Identify and implement operational improvements to elevate service, efficiency, and profitability.
• Support central initiatives including technology rollouts, service training, and sustainability efforts.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in banquet or event operations leadership, preferably in a high-volume hotel environment.
• Proven ability to manage complex events with multiple ballrooms and service styles (e.g., plated dinners, buffets, receptions, hybrid events).
• Strong leadership presence with demonstrated experience mentoring and developing a team.
• Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working with Marriott systems such as CI/TY is a plus.
• Flexible schedule required, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or related field preferred with equivalent experience.

Working Conditions:

• Fast-paced environment with frequent standing, walking, and movement through large event spaces.
• Requires availability during peak event times, including early mornings and late evenings.
• Must be comfortable managing events with 1000+ attendees and multiple simultaneous functions.
