SUMMARY
The Information Assurance Engineer – Operations supports the Department of Defense (DoD) ACAS capability which scans an estimated 11 million devices on the DoD Information Network (DoDIN) for potential vulnerabilities that may affect DoD security posture. This position provides complete operational support, which includes maintenance requirements, configuration management, training, manpower, etc.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must have an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Security Clearance which requires U.S. citizenship.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Provides a Product Support Plan (PSP) that addresses complete operational support, which includes maintenance requirements, configuration management, training, helpdesk support, manpower, etc. (The PSP will address support for Enterprise Deployment.)
Develops deployment and implementation plans and provide back-end technical support on the execution of these plans.
Works with the PMO in planning deployment and integration of the ACAS solution throughout all of DoD.
Works on a regular basis with points of contact in all Combatant
Commanders/Services/Agencies/Field Activities (CC/S/A/FAs).
Plans, controls, oversees, and deploys ACAS capabilities as designed and developed.
Prepares and maintains Deployment Guides for each major and minor release that document the procedures for creating the necessary installation.
Coordinates releases with the operational environment service provider and the program management office to schedule down times and to align resources required for the update on any PMO-managed servers, and to coordinate public announcements of release availability and what changes are included to the ACAS software as a function of applying the release to a production server.
For each major release, at least two per year, provides release notes to the Government PM in a format appropriate to publish on the DISA Knowledge Management portal, that provide a synopsis of the new capabilities (e.g., Application Help page, WIKI).
Identifies new capabilities to the Designated Service Desk, currently in Oklahoma City. A System Deployment Report shall be created at the conclusion of each system deployment event (two per year).
Develops an Installation Guide describing the procedures for creating disk images required for full installation into the Ecosystem environment.
Develops an IA section to the Installation Guide for each code deployment (two per year) which enables the Information Security Systems Officer/Information Security Systems Manager to seamlessly update vulnerability reporting.
Develops new and update existing documentation at each incremental release of a capability to keep ACAS related materials current with capability upgrades and framework-related materials current with framework modifications. Documentation includes (but is not limited to):
- Best Practices Guides
- Installation Guides
- Configuration Management Plans
- User Manuals
- Quick Reference Guides
Conducts open discussions with the Government regarding which versions and/or releases of the ACAS toolset will be supported by the software vendor and helpdesk. As releases are dropped from the supported product version list, create and disseminate announcements of plans to drop support.
Conducts a Monthly Working Group (MWG) to inform the DoD community of the current status of the program.
Develops and update the ACAS Training Material content as well as coordinate the providing of classroom, virtual or in-person, courses and prepackaged online training and associated materials described in the Training Plan.
Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output.
Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of seven (7) years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education/experience.
