Summary
Supervises the housekeeping department on a shift, daily, and regular basis. Performs housekeeping services for child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Job Duties

• Addresses and resolves issues related to smooth operation of the department or shift; consults with the supervisor or Director of Housekeeping as necessary.
• Assists in scheduling staff to ensure adequate housekeeping coverage of Medical Center facilities; adjusts and modifies schedule as needed to provide services on a priority basis.
• Completes annual educational requirements to improve competencies including those focused on age specific criteria; demonstrates knowledge of age specific criteria in communications strategies.
• Conducts training and orientation for new employees on new products and equipment.
• Monitors Quality Control standards and practices on a regular basis, completes documentation related to Quality Control measures, and addresses deficiencies or issues as necessary. Makes rounds of Medical Center facilities on a daily basis.
• Schedules and assigns special projects to staff, as needed, assisting department supervisor and director.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED
• 5 years of experience in housekeeping.
• Knowledge of all phases of housekeeping procedures and equipment.
• Able to use and understand computer systems.

Physical Demands
Lift over 50 lbs. Push/pull up to 140 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. short distances. Frequent standing/walking, squatting, kneeling, crawling, climbing and reaching overhead.
