Cardiology Tech Invasive PRN Mary Immaculate Hospital

The Cath lab and Interventional Holding teams at Mary Immaculate Hospital

are growing!  We are looking for Registered Cardiac Invasive Specialists to join our dynamic team and provide GOOD HELP to our cardiovascular patients.

In our lab, we perform a variety of cardiovascular procedures, such as diagnostic and interventional vascular and cardiac procedures, pacemakers, defibrillators, as well as insertion of Cardiosave Intra Aortic balloon pump.  We have a variety of cutting-edge technology, such as iFR with SyncVision from Philips,  for the team to provide the best outcome to our patients.  The patients that undergo these procedures get pre and post care in interventional holding, where they also assist with transesophageal echo, tilt table tests and cardioversions.

Position Summary:

Assists physician in performance of all cardiovascular procedures, demon­strating competency in all positions (scrub, monitor and float). Analyzes and interprets collected procedural data, provides effective patient care to ages adult (> 17 years) through geriatric, and all acuity levels. Assists in precepting new employees and students to department’s organization and function.  Maintains inventory and charges appropriately for procedures, performs all procedures per protocol, participates in quality assurance and performance improvement programs as requests. Equitable participation in call coverage required.

         

Employment Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Current certification as Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Registry (RCIS) as currently administered by Cardiovascular Credentialing, Inc. (CCI). 
  • BCLS and ACLS required.
  • IABP certification required within six months of hire date.
  • Effective ECG and Hemodynamic recognition and interpretation required.

Knowledge:

  • Will accept a graduate of an approved accredited program. Preferred at least one year of cardiac cath lab experience.

Skills/Abilities:

CV Tech RCIS must demonstrate excellent patient assessment skills, diagnostic skills, patient care skills include IV access, wound care/hemostasis, monitoring interpretation of ECG and Hemodynamics, and appropriate pharmacological knowledge for medication administration.

Essential Job Functions

  • Age Appropriate Competency: The employee is able to demonstrate general competency in providing Age Appropriate Care as indicated by the ability to plan, provide and evaluate care based on the physiological, psychosocial, intellectual and safety developmental needs of the patient.
  • Utilizes appropriate processes and documents in accordance with TJC and other regulatory standards for each patient admitted, transferred, or discharged for the cath lab.
  • Demonstrates ability to provide comprehensive care to cath lab patients.                                                                                                       
  • Demonstrates the ability to function in all roles (scrub, monitor, and circulate).
  • Demonstrates appropriate care to moderate sedation patients.
  • Function as a qualified team member (QTM) in the administration of moderate sedation under the direct supervision of the physician.
  • Provides care in compliance with establish policies, procedures and standards of care.
  • This may include administration of medications, contrast, starting IV's. IV fluids under the direction of the physician
