TxDOT’s San Antonio District Bridge Section is seeking a General Transportation Technician II or III to join a specialized bridge maintenance team focused on preserving the safety and reliability of bridges across our 12‑county region. This team plays a critical role in maintaining the district’s bridge inventory and is often called upon to respond to emergency bridge repairs that require quick action, sound judgment, and skilled workmanship.
This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in hands‑on work, thrives in challenging field conditions, and wants to be part of a team that directly supports public safety and infrastructure resilience.
Annual Salary Ranges
General Transportation Tech II (A17): $42,976- $64,469
General Transportation Tech III (A18): $45,521- $71,055
This position is for a General Transportation Tech II or III. The Texas Department of Transportation reserves the sole right in determining the level of position based on the applicant's work experience, education, skill level and all other appropriate factors, and based on business needs
