Title: Sr DevOps Engineer 

Location: San Antonio, TX

Clearance: Active Secret or Higher Clearance Required

 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior DevSecOps Engineer who is interested in working in a fast-paced environment building and maintaining the Cloud Native Access Point (CNAP) for Platform One, an Air Force DevSecOps platform. The successful candidate will support the general operations, feature development, and day to day activities to manage enterprise operations for CNAP and integration with DAF/DoD initiatives such as zero trust and identity and feature deployment in classified environments. Our Senior DevSecOps Engineer will work with Platform ONE Core Support, Feature Development, Operations, and Leadership and have a direct impact on the direction of CNAP.

 

Essential Functions:

• Work with the Cybersecurity team by implementing industry best practices for system hardening and configuration management
• Use automation best practices, such as IaC and GitOps, for repeatability and fast provisioning of environments across classification levels
• DevSecOps in the cloud for different classification levels
• Work closely with development teams to provide onboarding support
• Ensure platform and networks are compliant with DoD policies 

Minimum Education and/or Experience:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent relevant work experience
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) is a plus

Requisite Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with the DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Ref Design
• Experience with Cloud (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc)
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Kubernetes configuration tools such as Helm
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Senior level experience and ability to demonstrate understanding

Nice to have skills:

• Ansible
• General cloud architecture experience with a major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus, but not required
• Experience with building Kubernetes Operators, Controllers or CRDs a plus
• GitOps (FluxCD, ArgoCD) experience nice to have
• Istio expertise (nice to have)
• General DevOps Experience a plus
• Knowledge of SQL databases and basic coding skills in Java, Python, Go, C++ or a similar language are desirable, as is experience with microservices architectures
• Software Engineering background is nice to have
