Associate Software Engineer, New College Graduate

As an Associate Software Engineer you’ll have experience in developing highly-available, scalable and reliable software systems. At Fastly we have a variety of teams focused on areas including customer configuration management, product development, platform and network capabilities as well as front end applications. As a distributed team, we employ a variety of styles to get our work done. We put a high value on working collaboratively, at times asynchronously, while also utilizing remote pairing and code/design walkthroughs.

What You'll Do

• Develop components or features that have a direct impact on how customers experience Fastly
• Write code in a modern language
• Support and deploy applications
• Collaborate with your teammates through code and design reviews
• Build for the continued reliability and scaling needs of the applications supported by your team
• Participate in on-call rotation
• Contribute to the core infrastructure and platform needs of the team 

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience developing applications in any modern language
• Understanding of best principles for system design 
• You are eager to learn new domains, grow your skills, and move up the stack
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A great teammate: communicative, collaborative, empathetic
• You have experience working with teams distributed across different time zones

We value a variety of voices, so this is not a laundry list. It would be an added bonus if you have experience in ANY of these:

• Building, analyzing, profiling, or debugging large-scale distributed systems
• Previous experience working with Fastly is a plus

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours as well as evenings and weekends as needed to participate in the on-call support rotation.

Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.

Salary

The estimated salary range for this position is $105,740 to $115,000. 

Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.

This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly’s equity and discretionary bonus programs.
