About the role

Overview

Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Senior Business Analyst and Team Lead to support our team in Lakewood or Loveland, CO. This role blends business analysis and team leadership for the successful delivery of IT solutions, with a focus on identifying business needs, gathering requirements, and ensuring the delivery of IT projects related to software maintenance, development, and system integration. You will lead a team of professionals and collaborate with both internal stakeholders and IT teams to ensure that business needs are clearly understood and translated into successful IT solutions, supporting both Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications and custom software development.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate business units in identifying and capturing their IT needs, ensuring these needs are aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. Guide the team and stakeholders through the Opportunity Management process.
  • Work closely with business units to gather and define business requirements for IT tools and processes, translating these into clear and actionable functional specifications.
  • Lead a team of professionals, providing mentorship, support, and direction to ensure high-performance and successful delivery of projects. Foster collaboration and maintain accountability within the team.
  • Act as the primary liaison between business units and IT teams, ensuring all parties understand project goals and requirements. Facilitate communication to ensure IT solutions meet business needs.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of detailed documentation for business requirements, solutions, and program processes. Ensure transparency and alignment with all stakeholders.
  • Guide and support the development and maintenance activities of both custom and COTS applications, ensuring that solutions are designed, implemented, and upgraded in line with business requirements.
  • Ensure that IT solutions undergo appropriate testing and quality assurance processes to meet both business and technical requirements. Oversee issue resolution and the validation of systems post-implementation.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements within both the Opportunity Management Program and software development workflows. Implement best practices to increase efficiency and improve outcomes.
  • Guide team members in their professional growth, encouraging knowledge sharing, technical development, and leadership skills. Ensure the team is aligned with evolving business needs and IT trends.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • In lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicable.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
  • Proven experience in business analysis and IT solution delivery, with a strong understanding of both business needs and technical solutions.
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably with a team of 5 or more. Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiarity with both COTS applications and custom application development and deployment.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC), including testing, deployment, and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to mentor and lead teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality IT solutions.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects.

Desired: 

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools.

Other:

  • This position may require the ability to operate a government vehicle. The incumbent must be at least 18 years of age, able to obtain and maintain Defensive Drivers certification and have a valid state driver’s license.
