Job Description
Business Lead, ITD
Reporting to the Regional Manager for Intelligent Devices, the Business Leader is a highly critical and visible role. Your territory will cover greater Boston & Rochester - with travel up to 50%. You will be based in one of these locations and work remotely.
Business Unit Leaders are a commercial & technical resource for a segment or portion of Rockwell Automation portfolio (Intelligent Devices). You will maximize and manage the sales of their portfolio within an assigned geography (Boston and Rochester mainly) by supporting sales activities, launching new products, ensuring RA Sales and channel to market product competence, providing commercial program support, and marketing activities. You will advise on proposals, pricing, and sales pursuit strategies and provide department feedback on product/service gaps and development needs for their assigned markets.
Intelligent Devices areas of expertise: Industrial Components, Safety and Sensors, Medium Voltage Drives and MCC's, Low Voltage Drives and MCC's, Mechatronics, Small Controller Business and Distributed I/O Platforms.
What you will do:
Sales Preparation & Customer Facing
- Ensure regional selling resources maintain the appropriate competencies across assigned products and services.
- Co-operate with the sales force in promoting the product offering for which they are responsible.
- Lead launch of new products to the sales force and channel.
- Plan commercial programs related to product responsibility.
- Define and explain product differentiators and values versus competition.
- Provide information to support management of the business to all levels.
- Analyze product lines, have knowledge of competitor's strategy, further define competitive differentiators.
- Participate in trade shows, seminars, Webinars and similar marketing activities.
- Plan and implement training (technical and Commercial) for sales organizations and ecosystem to ensure they are enabled with the latest information to sell the value of assigned product lines to our customers
- Ensure market access (System Integrators and Distributors) can articulate value and identify opportunities for new products and technologies within assigned product business.
- Provide product gap and development feedback to appropriate team.
The Essentials - You will have:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
- Ability to travel 50% of time or more
- Current, valid Drivers License
The Preferred - You might also have:
- Business acumen on industry trends for manufacturing, industrial distribution, manufacturing operations, OEM market, System Integration market
- Minimum 8 years solution and application expertise, and related demonstrated sales experience.
- Experience at planning and operationalizing execution to broad range of Sales, Team, and Channel Members.
- Prior or current experience working with all levels of customer persona, c-level, executive, plant management, Sellers, Customers, Owners, with knowledge of Automation technologies and services

For this role, the total target compensation is from $135,280.00 - $202,920.00 of which 80% is base salary and 20% is variable. Our company benefits for the US can be found here.
