In this role, you will help define and drive execution in the creation of analytics and reporting of data from both the new cloud-based database and other enterprise databases to assist in meeting strategic Risk Engineering goals. This data will enable us to better create and manage service strategies for the risk engineering team and system enhancements that addresses trends and provides a strong customer experience. These analytics will promote and enhance efficiency and clarity of data of the RECON system and will enable us to refine and enhance our service models. This work includes cross functional reporting and projects that assist our segment partners in meeting our joint strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Lead the timely and successful delivery of business capabilities and/or technology objectives

• Work as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to understand project requirements and work in an Agile way to help deliver best-in-class solutions

• As a SME,  maintain, promote, and support work management system data collection processes to ensure data quality and integrity, and the strategic use of data

• Leverage Risk Engineer and other data sources; provide in-depth analysis which provides business insights to establish trends that drive innovation, next generation efficiencies for consultant and underwriter workflows, and ease of use for customers

• Understand and apply the big picture perspective by identifying choices and improvement opportunities to better align our work with the direction and strategic priorities of the broader organization.

• Produce dynamic dashboards and strong visualization in the Risk Engineering application and to help drive business solutions

• Provide guidance to staff, management and project teams in the area of business analysis

• Participate in the requirement gathering, development and enhancement of operational models and ad hoc analyses; and in testing/validation activities to ensure quality solutions are delivered to meet the business’ needs and Enterprise initiatives

• Aid team members' elicitation efforts through help selecting approaches and identification of gaps/areas to explore. This includes collaborating/mentoring in selecting the appropriate tools and techniques based on assessment of the project and requirements, and identifying and improving execution

• Collaborate with teams to identify and analyze current issues and actionable opportunities, with recommendations for resolutions that address root cause and simplify processes and anticipate trends and data relevance

• Solve data challenges with consultants, vendors, and business partners; provide support and consulting by answering questions, researching possible solutions and fostering open communication

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years of experience in business requirements or data analysis supporting the Insurance industry, data warehouse or reporting/analytic projects highly preferred

• Project leadership with a focus on IT expertise is required

• Desired educational experience includes, but is not limited to: Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Applied Mathematics, and Business

• Prior analysis experience with strong SQL Server, Tableau and visualization skills

• Prior experience in an Agile environment and Snowflake data design

• Knowledge of P&C insurance industry practices and associated data assets is preferred

• Desire candidates with prior experience having successful contribution to enablement of data/technical delivery initiatives

• Strategic thinking skills - Ability to provide options and assess solutions, looking at the business holistically and support the future Data Asset roadmap

• Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of a competent practitioner with the ability to deliver on work of highest technical complexity

• Ability to structure and drive working and informational sessions that promote collaboration, achieve synergy, and desired outcome

• Experienced facilitator with strong presentation skills; strong written and oral communication skill with the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical audience.
