Position Summary
The primary responsibility of the One Team Patient-Prescriber Advocate is to enhance the patient-prescriber experience as a designated point of contact for high priority medical office prescribers servicing patients with complex medication therapies. As a One Team Patient-Prescriber Advocate you will be responsible for ensuring patients and prescribers are receiving best-in-class service, turnaround times, costs, and care for their medications by enhancing the customer service experience.  This will be achieved by collaborating cross-functionally with CarePlus teams, Patients, Prescribers, Specialty Mail, Centers of Excellence, and prescriber sales within the CVS Specialty Enterprise. The Advocates will establish prescriber & patient relationships through telephonic and email outreach and will be required to triage issues to the appropriate departments and update the medical offices accordingly.  In this role, you will utilize various platforms such as Salesforce, SPRX, RXConnect, Peoplesafe, Specialty Central, Zitter, and utilize pharmacy operations computer systems to track the status of prescription fulfillment and provide updates to the top specialty prescriber offices.

Skills needed to be successful in this role:

  • Basic pharmacology knowledge, which includes the ability to weigh, measure, calculate dosages and convert units of measure.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work with varying levels of leadership within the organization.
  • Ability to support colleagues in other time zones remotely when needed.
  • Ability to work amongst a diverse team throughout the country with hours appropriate to service all 48 states.
  • Experience working with multiple operational systems and navigating complex workflows.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and professionally to internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency in email etiquette, including concise and effective messaging tailored to different audiences.
  • Adapt communication approach based on various geographic market expectations.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to track and manage tasks across various platforms and teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to work both independently and as part of a team to deliver results.


Required Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Applications
  • Two plus years of experience in healthcare customer service
  • Two years as a pharmacy technician or in a healthcare setting with experience in medical billing or prior authorizations
  • Technician state licensure where required in the state they work.



Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialty Pharmacy Experience in operations
  • One year as a pharmacy tech in a CarePlus Specialty Pharmacy
  • Proficient in Salesforce.com
  • Knowledge of therapy, disease, and benefit plan designs
  • Knowledge of BV, SPRx, & RXConnect
  • CPHT Certification a plus in states that do not require certification.

  • High School Diploma or General Equivalent Development (GED)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$18.50 - $42.35

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
