Position Overview

We are looking for a Proposals Graphic Designer to join our growing in-house marketing & proposals, creative team. This role is for an innovative thinker with a strong understanding of design fundamentals. The proposals graphic designer is responsible for the visual elements of proposal submissions and client presentations that win Kiewit work. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills, a collaborative spirit and the ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment.
 

District Overview

The Kiewit Energy marketing, creative and proposal team provide get-work services to an array of markets, including power generation, transmission and distribution, renewables, industrial, oil and gas, and water/wastewater. Individuals in this department get exposure to a mix of high profile, complex pursuits across North America valued from $5M-$6B. This incredibly profitable, competitive, fun group focuses on winning more work with high-quality, client-focused sales strategies through creative communication techniques. Our rapidly growing team, which includes graphic designers, proposal professionals, writers, digital strategists, marketers, and data analytics brings vast experience, communication expertise, innovative concepts, and best practices to all projects we support across the company.
 

Location

This position is based out of Lenexa, KS. We will consider remote work. 

Responsibilities

-    Collaborate with the proposals team and subject matter experts to brainstorm and create unique branding and highly technical, compelling graphics to support each pursuit strategy.
-    Develop graphic design solutions for logos, infographics, templates, layout, presentations, covers, tabs, packaging, etc., to support the production of winning proposals.
-    Transform written proposal content into creative and technical persuasive graphics. The ability to develop 3D graphics is ideal.
-    Possess knowledge and experience in publishing and production of documents. Collaborate with internal clients and external vendors to produce proposals on time and on budget.
-    Oversee production of all print pieces, including using in-house production tools and communicating with vendors.
-    Create persuasive PowerPoint presentations for the interview stage of a proposal, including providing on-site technical support as needed. 
-    Responsible for communicating the Kiewit brand to the intended audience using established brand standards.
-    Execute multiple projects with shifting priorities in a deadline-driven environment. Provide effective and timely solutions for all levels of creative requests at Kiewit.
-    Assist with graphic design requests from other departments, such as marketing.

Qualifications

-    BA in Graphic Design and 5+ years of experience in proposals graphic design professional role
-    Adobe Creative Suite expert user (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator required)
-    Microsoft Office Suite expert user (PowerPoint and Word required)
-    Photography, videography, video editing and motion graphics skills a plus
-    Expert knowledge in graphic design fundamentals and processes and innate attention to detail 
-    Strong creative, organizational, problem solving and time-management skills
-    Adaptable, quick learner
-    Excellent listening and communication skills 
-    Works well independently and on a team
-    Professionally handle constructive criticism
-    Willing to travel on short notice, up to 10% travel may be required
