(Senior) Project Developer

We are present on four continents and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Main purpose of position</strong></p> <p>Currently we are looking for a (Senior) <strong>Project Developer</strong> in Bucharest or Craiova, Romania to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – <strong>Improving our future.</strong> As our (Senior) <strong>Project Developer </strong>you will be responsible for the development and structuring of renewable energy projects in Romania from early opportunity identification through the development cycle to financial close. Your ability to lead external and internal development processes including permitting, engaging with local and national stakeholders, structure and negotiate complex transactions and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is key to successfully lead the project to construction start.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Main responsibilities </strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan, coordinate and lead internal and external project development activities including securing land rights, obtaining required local permits and approvals, and securing interconnection rights from utilities.</li> <li>Represent Scatec in engagment with local stakeholders, such as authorities, advisors, partners, and landowners, with the expectation of necessary local travel in Bucharest and to project sites throughout Romania.</li> <li>Identify, screen and evaluate new project opportunities, support negotiations for project acquisition and manage acquisition/transaction processes. </li> <li>Undertake market reviews, analyzing regulatory issues and policy supports for utility-scale renewable energy projects and contribute to development strategies for countries or regions. </li> <li>Participate in bidding processes to submit bid packages in response to Request for Proposals (RFPs) from governmental bodies, utilities and private off-takers. </li> <li>Support the negotiations with prospective development partners and assume responsibility for external relationships.</li> <li>Support the process to secure equity and debt finance for projects until financial close.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Qualifications and competencies</strong> </p> <ul> <li><strong>Education: </strong>Commercial, technical, legal or environmental university-level degree. </li> <li><strong>Experience:</strong> Renewable energy experience (or similar) ideally from Project Development, Engineering companies, Environmental or Consulting firms, Renewable Independent Power Producers or other infrastructure companies.</li> <li>Strong project management skills, with the ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage multiple workstreams simultaneously.</li> <li>Experience with permitting of renewable energy projects in Romania.</li> <li>Basic understanding of power markets and in particular renewable energy. </li> <li>Working knowledge and understanding of power purchase agreements, interconnection agreements, and EPC contract terms and conditions is preferable, but not required.</li> <li>Basic knowledge of business fundamentals and financial analysis. </li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including presentation software and Excel.</li> <li>Willingness to travel as required.</li> <li>fluent in both written and spoken Romanian and English.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Personal characteristics</strong></p> <p>It is part of every employees’ terms of reference to contribute to Scatec's vision: Improving our Future and adhere to our company values which are:</p> <ul> <li><strong>Predictable</strong>: demonstrate clear communication and listening skills, shares information in an open and honest way</li> <li><strong>Driving results: </strong>demonstrate determination, pro-activeness, can prioritise and work independently</li> <li><strong>Changemaker: </strong>demonstrate entrepreneurship, can challenge, fast learner, take initiates and adjust</li> <li><strong>Working together: </strong>demonstrate teamwork, shares responsibilities, can compromise, has a can-do attitude</li> </ul> <p><strong>We offer</strong>Scatec is an exciting, innovative and ambitious company operating in a growing industry.
