About the Team
The Finance Regulatory Engagement & Oversight team works closely with stakeholders to drive and execute end-to-end regulatory engagement and deliverables across Citi Finance activities, which span global Finance groups, Finance functions, and technology and business partners. This global team leads engagements, identifies priorities, strategically coordinates efforts and tracks progress, while defining and implementing best practices.
About the role
The Finance Regulatory Engagement Communications and Reporting Senior Vice President is a strategic professional who manages the end-to-end process for the drafting of regulatory remediation progress reports to regulators and related updates to senior management and regulators. As a strong manager adept at working in cross-functional teams, you will prepare written correspondence, presentations and talking points related to a wide-range of financial and regulatory topics. You will be reviewing and challenging content that requires a high degree of fact-finding, editing and validating accuracy and ease of reading. This role requires thought leadership, diplomacy and verbal and written skills in order to lead and influence colleagues across the firm in producing materials that are transparent, comprehensive and clear. This role reports to the Finance Regulatory Engagement Communications and Reporting Director.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and manage the process for the development of quarterly progress reports owned by Finance (as part of a firmwide process), including setting expectations with stakeholders and keeping them apprised of next steps throughout the development cycle.
- Critically review and challenge drafts prepared by others for narrative flow, readability, consistency and clarity.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and build and maintaining narratives and materials that explain end goals, iterative progress and the underlying benefits for the firm regarding remediation efforts underway.
- Lead the development of materials and speaking points for senior management related to current activities including Finance priorities, key financial information, key regulatory interactions, progress on remediation, issues and risks.
- Coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders throughout the firm to storyboard and coordinate information from multiple sources into comprehensive, cohesive presentations, reports or other materials for engagement with regulators (e.g., narrative prose, bullet points, PowerPoint presentations) and senior management.
- Maintain a content library, so that messaging can be applied consistently across regulatory documents; manage ongoing updates and version control.
- Proactively build project plans/timelines, inform stakeholders of actions and deadlines. Proactively follow up as needed, ensuring timeliness and ownership of the overall delivery of the end product.
- Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify key points to include in regulatory and senior management materials.
- Respond to feedback and adjust communications content accordingly.
- Take notes and prepare meeting summaries for meetings with regulators; proactively schedule and coordinate internal preparatory meetings.
- Report project outcomes and/or risks to the appropriate management channels as needed—escalate issues as necessary based on project work plans.
- Work with Management on governance and the facilitation of the execution of the Managers Control Assessment (MCA) as required by the MCA Standard including the assessment and appropriate approval of risk associated with Finance Regulatory Engagement; manage team’s business continuity plan, record retention strategy and related risk and controls activities.
- Support Regulatory Exam Management and Regulatory engagement teams, performing other duties and functions as assigned to support overall team success.
- Appropriately assessing risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively supervise the activity of others and create accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards.
