As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in managing access control and maintaining a secure environment at a utilities location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, monitoring entry points, and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will deliver outstanding customer service while communicating clearly with visitors and staff. What You'll Do:
- Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
- Monitor access points to help control entry and exit of individuals and vehicles at the utilities location.
- Verify credentials of employees, contractors, and visitors to help manage authorized access to restricted areas.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
- Document observations, incidents, and daily activities in site logs and/or reports as required by Allied Universal guidelines.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or emergency responders as needed.
- Follow all instructions from Allied Universal management and site leadership regarding post duties and responsibilities.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
- Must possess a valid TSA issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential known as TWIC.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Experience working at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
