As a Security Officer - Utilities Access Control in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in managing access control and maintaining a secure environment at a utilities location. Your responsibilities will include conducting routine patrols, monitoring entry points, and remaining highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents. You will deliver outstanding customer service while communicating clearly with visitors and staff. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding appropriately to emergency situations.
• Monitor access points to help control entry and exit of individuals and vehicles at the utilities location.
• Verify credentials of employees, contractors, and visitors to help manage authorized access to restricted areas.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the property and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify potential concerns.
• Document observations, incidents, and daily activities in site logs and/or reports as required by Allied Universal guidelines.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with staff, visitors, and/or emergency responders as needed.
• Follow all instructions from Allied Universal management and site leadership regarding post duties and responsibilities.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Must possess a valid TSA issued Transportation Worker Identification Credential known as TWIC.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Experience working at sites with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or rustic guard shacks is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
