Your Specific Responsibilities:

This is a highly responsible professional position with lead responsibility early intervention activities in Area 3 and 13 areas of the state.  It is a position that interreacts with the community and faith-based organizations as well as health Departments in 15 counties.  This position has statewide responsibilities as a trainer. This position is assigned to and stationed at the Florida Department of Health, Alachua County and reports to the Health Services Manager for the area.      

    

The incumbent will ensure an effective training system exists in Area 3 and 13.

     1. Conducts and/or oversees training: 500, 501, 501 Updates, Train-the-Trainer, Forms, etc.

     2. Provides technical assistance (TA) and guidance to area county health department (CHD) and community-based     organization (CBO) trainers.

     3. Evaluates area training program and takes steps as needed to ensure accessibility, availability, cultural competence and standardization.

     4. Completes associated paperwork; and

     5. Ensures all area trainers meet the requirements of the TAG: 345-17-13 (IOP 360-07).

 

The incumbent will participate in quality improvement (QI) and technical assistance (TA) activities for the area.

     . Assists Prevention Program staff with QI/TA site visits.

     . Provides follow-up of Prevention Program QI/TA site visit issues to the HIV Counseling and Testing (CT) Field Services Representative (FSR).

     . Performs periodic QI visits and TA visits (as needed) to CHDs and registered test sites for the area and provides appropriate follow-up.

     . As applicable, maintains adequate quality control documentation related to:

         1. Forms distribution.

        2. OraSure distribution and logs.

       3. Testing-related supplies and materials.

       4. Incentives, promotional items, and literature.

       5. Training.

       6. Registration of new HIV testing sites.

      7. Annual reregistration compliance of existing HIV testing sites.

      8. Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs); and

      9. Post-test counseling rates and other data as appropriate.

 

The EIC will coordinate the Apertude Pilot Program provide a monthly report to the Health Office during the monthly meeting via telecall, with a copy to their Supervisor/Manager.

 

Manage county condom distribution for the 15-county area.

 

The incumbent will fill the role as Early Intervention Consultant (EIC) as prescribed by the Bureau of HIV/Aids.  Attend face to face EIC meetings or conference calls and distribute appropriate information to the staff and community.  

 

Provide regular feedback to the Health Services Manager on all activities.  Conduct annual workplan and monthly reports of activities.             

 

Attend all mandatory trainings and staff meetings.          

Performs all other duties assigned. 

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of HIV and applicable laws and rules including DOH.  Must be organized and knowledge of computer systems.

Qualifications:

Minimum - Must have good customer service skills and work well with others. 

•  Work experience in a healthcare or human service field or an associate degree in a healthcare or human service field

•   Driver’s License, if out of state a Florida Driver’s License is required within 30 days of hire

•   Minimum of one year experience working in an HIV/STD testing and/or counseling position, working at disease prevention related and/or patient coordination/navigation.

•   Minimum of one year experience in community engagement, public speaking, or giving community presentations
