Job Summary
The Level 2 Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of guestrooms and hotel equipment issues as assigned. This includes an understanding of basic troubleshooting skills that cover the operation of the hotel. Candidate will have an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Understanding of basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, kitchen equipment and appliances.
- Understanding of hotel fire life safety systems.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in relevant technical fields is a plus.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving heavy equipment.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to assist in special events setup when requested.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform regular preventive maintenance as assigned on all hotel equipment and systems, including kitchen equipment and appliances, refrigeration equipment. plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Work with venders to repair or diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime and disruption.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff when needed to address and resolve maintenance issues promptly and efficiently.
- Maintain detailed maintenance records and ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
- Able to use and understand hotel engineering preventive maintenance software and keep up to date.
- Maintain an inventory of needed spare parts and supplies.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and ensure timely resolution.
