We are seeking a professional like you, to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for Safety, quality, housekeeping, and proper care of equipment in the work area. Perform simple math calculations, interpret, and execute written instructions. Record data on log sheets; read and interpret log sheet data. Adjust the process when appropriate. Coordinate process operations with supervisors, coworkers, and technical personnel. Analyze and troubleshoot process problems utilizing available resources. Performs minor maintenance and follows maintenance work in the area. Maintains communication as related to process and equipment. Collects and evaluates samples, documents sample results. Monitors equipment in assigned area of responsibility for proper operation. Complete required training, including, but not limited to RCRA, PSM, DOT, Safety, etc. Support the plant’s safety and environmental goals. Required member of HAZMAT team, Industrial Fire Brigade and Rescue and/or medical teams.

During your hours as a Process Technician, you will

 

  • Work from written and verbal instructions to safely manufacture products.
  • Operate equipment, monitor performance, and take appropriate corrective action to ensure safe and reliable operation.
  • Operate both DCS and manual equipment.
  • Record operating data/plant status, catch samples, interpret results, and respond with the appropriate adjustments to troubleshoot the process.
  • Assure proper handling of waste materials to meet all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Perform designated SAP transactions associated with managing raw materials, production, and maintenance.
  • Perform Emergency Response functions as an active member of the site’s ERT.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties including routine maintenance, lock out of equipment, and issuance of safe work permits.
  • Your mechanical aptitude, willingness to learn and work within a team will be essential for you to be a valued asset as you become trained and qualified as a Process Technician.
  • Utilizing a computer and having basic computer knowledge will be essential to complete daily tasks.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with various departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to determine measurements, make calculations and read various instruments, gauges, and meters.
  • Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, holidays, weekends, and overtime as required.
  • Must be able to climb and work at elevated heights, while wearing ANSI approved fall protection device / harness.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds of weight.
  • Candidates are required to successfully pass online assessments and must be able to pass a fit for duty physical assessment as part of the pre-employment screening.

Basic qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or GED.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to go up and down stairs
  • Ability to go up and down 50 feet vertical ladders
  • Ability to stand for an extended period
  • Ability to have a pulling and pushing force of 100 lbs.
  • Ability to kneel, squat, crawl, bend, or transfer more than 50 lbs. with assistance
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders, stand, and/or walk as process demands
  • Manual dexterity to operate board and machinery as necessary.
  • Ability to wear a respirator.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Process Technology degree / equivalent, or minimum of 3 years’ experience as a process technician in a chemical, refinery, or similar manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as a DCS board technician (Foxboro preferred).
  • Experience working with continuous processes.
  • Experience with LEAN concepts, such as 5S.
  • SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word. (preferred)
  • Ability to complete small routine maintenance tasks.
