The Membership Engineering team is composed of experienced engineers responsible for building and evolving critical tier1 services to ensure that members can continue to sign up and watch Netflix. Our work impacts hundreds of millions of members, playing a critical role in the long-term success of Netflix, global revenue, and subscriber growth. 

We're eager to talk to you if:

  • You have 5+ years of experience crafting resilient, high-scale, low latency, distributed microservices in production environments.
  • You are driven by the desire to solve hard infrastructure problems with the goal to automate and scale everything. 
  • You genuinely enjoy collaborating and sharing ideas with the team. 
  • You can communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
  • You are motivated to deliver high quality solutions quickly. 
  • You are excellent at making technical decisions based on aggregated business goals. 

Some nice to haves:

  • Working experience with {Java || Kotlin || C# || Scala}, ElasticSearch, Kibana, Kafka, Hive or AWS.
  • Proficient with RESTful or gRPC API design and implementation.
  • Experience with SQL & NoSQL multi region datastores such as CockroachDB, Cassandra.
  • Solid understanding of what being on-call means and can resolve production outages independently.
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related field.

What are we working on?Budhaditya is working on removing the Basic plan from our catalog. Daniel is working on a global lock system that will help us improve our data accuracy.  Paris and Surabhi are improving our integration with Apple. Nimrod and Steve are building a new commerce engine.Ben is building the next phase of our pricing engine. Rohit is working adding a caching layer to our operational database. Chaim joined in September 2020 and gets to lead this dream team.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $100,000 - $700,000.
