About the role

Overview

The Student Services Coordinator II reports to the Associate Director of Scholarships & Work-Study in Student Financial Support. This position is responsible for assisting with a variety of scholarship processes and transactions. The Scholarship Team supports university programs that are large in size, scope, and complexities which are embedded within enrollment management strategies at USU.

 

The successful applicant must be friendly and enjoy working with students. They should also be accurate and detail oriented, self-motivated, organized, and able to work in a fast-paced office as a selfless team member.

Responsibilities

The Student Services Coordinator will be part of the larger Scholarship Team and will work collaboratively with all office staff, including campus partners across the USU system. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and to learn the intricate details of institutional and state scholarships. Duties and responsibilities may include:

  • Awarding and adjusting specific scholarships
  • Communicating with recipients
  • Communicating with USU departments
  • Creating and facilitating new processes
  • Monitoring recipient academic progress
  • Customer Service
  • Scholarship auditing (checking for term utilization, qualification, etc.)
  • Review daily outputs and reports
  • Completing ServiceNow tasks
  • Scholarship Appeals
  • State of Utah scholarships and awards (Opportunity, Utah Promise, Talent Development, etc)

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Years of Experience, or Degrees
    • Four years of experience; or an associate degree plus two years of experience; or a bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Knowledge and Skillset
    • Strong computer experience—including excel and Microsoft Suite
    • Demonstrated experience in completing tasks and assignments
    • Solid communication skills
    • Problem solving skills
    • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills
    • Fast learner, quality consciousness and committed to deadlines
    • Dependable with a strong work ethic and the ability to work without supervision
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced office environment
    • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Higher Education
  • Utah State University Experience

Advertised Salary

Minimum $33,000, commensurate with experience plus excellent benefits.
