We are particularly interested in candidates whose research examines African states' security challenges and defense strategies, especially in the Lake Chad, Sahel, and Horn of Africa regions, and who consider Africa's role as both an influencer and actor in global security, including cyber resilience. The rank of the position will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Courses should emphasize critical analysis of global security challenges, focusing on African contexts and the influence of emerging technologies like cyber security on regional and international stability.
● Scholarly Work, Creative Production, and Professional Activity: Conduct and publish high-impact, policy-relevant research on African security issues, such as violent extremism, cyber threats, the efficacy of African military and cybersecurity responses, and the impact of international assistance on regional security. Research areas may include political violence, sovereignty in African states, human security, and the implications of cyber and non-state actor interventions on regional stability.
● Advising and Mentorship: Provide academic advising to students within the CGA and mentor them in research and professional development. Supervise graduate theses and independent research projects, integrating real-world applications such as case studies on cyber security and African security challenges to prepare students for international relations and security careers.
● Program Development: Organize and participate in speaker series, conferences, and roundtables at the CGA to connect students with leading experts in African security studies, cyber security, and international relations. Collaborate with CGA’s diverse programs to develop interdisciplinary initiatives and engage a wider audience in discussions on cyber security and African security issues.
