POSITION OVERVIEW
dormakaba is seeking a Mechatronics Test Engineer - ANSI Door Hardware based in Indianapolis, IN. The Mechatronics Test Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and quality of our mechatronic systems. They will develop test plans and strategies for evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of mechatronic systems in compliance with relevant standards or regulations and will understand the system requirements and define appropriate testing methodologies.
HIRING RANGE: Base Salary $75,000 - $95,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Please visit our career site for more information on benefits.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop test plans and strategies for evaluating the performance, reliability, and safety of mechatronic systems in compliance with relevant standards or regulations. This involves understanding the system requirements, defining appropriate testing methodologies, and documenting test procedures, results, and findings in a clear and concise manner to align with our ISO certified processes.
- Design and build test fixtures and setups to simulate real-world operating conditions
- Conduct tests on mechatronic components, subsystems, and integrated systems to verify their functionality and performance while adhering to testing protocols and procedures (this may involve using various testing equipment, instrumentation, and software tools)
- Analyze test results and data to identify issues, defects, or areas for improvement in mechatronic systems by interpreting data from sensors, actuators, and other measurement devices to assess system performance
- Develop automated testing solutions to streamline the testing process and improve efficiency
WHAT WE REQUIRE
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Proven experience in mechatronics testing, preferably in a product development environment
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software engineering principles
- Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and techniques
- Proficiency in pneumatic control systems, hydraulic control systems, electronic programming systems, and PLC programming
WHAT WE PREFER
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering or Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages
- Experience with metal machining tools, 3 axis manual mill, drill press, sanders, hand tools, machining and 3D printing
