About the role

Description

JOB OVERVIEW: 

The Accounting Clerk role is responsible for timely and accurate processing of transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency of operations and resolving discrepancies in accordance with established policies and procedures. 


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: 

  • Process patient refunds
  • Research discrepancies in refund postings
  • Process accounts payable processing
  • Reconcile account balances
  • Assist with month end closing processes
  • Update accounting databases
  • Maintaining historical records
  • Track and report discrepancies in records
  • Preparing analysis of accounts and producing monthly reports
  • Continuing to improve the business process
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/LICENSE: 

None


EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or equivalent


EXPERIENCE:

1-3 years of experience with data entry, previous accounting experience preferred


SKILLS:

· Proficient in data entry and management

· Basic Excel proficiency

· Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting skills

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Ability to work co-operatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external customers to maximize performance and problem solving

· Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer-based work, participating in filing activity, lifting, and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)

· Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to feel, and reach with hand and arms

· Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds.

· Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding).

· Travel may be required to existing or new TOI locations.
