Medical Reviewer Administrative Assistant

Objectives of this role: Assists the Medical Review Officer, Clients, Staff Members and Patients by processing, verifying and reporting of drug and alcohol test results.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enters and updates data in electronic files to be released by the MRO.

Calls donors and performs the template interview for non-DOT donors who have positive drug results.

Send non-negative drug screen reports to the MRO.

Reviews physicals/drug screens results.

Fulfilling legal medical records requests.

Random Drug Screen pulls.

Create and maintain accurate reports

Reviewing electronic medical evaluation.

Assist with medical records, electronic chart review and random pulls.

Processing and administering PRIME clinical reports

Functions as a member of the Drug and Alcohol team demonstrating knowledge in drug screen collection and breath alcohol collections.

Communicate with collection sites, laboratories, employer representatives and MRO’s in a professional manner within the set timeframe.

Must maintain confidentiality and abide by HIPPA and DOTD requirements.  

May be required to travel.

May be required to work overtime, weekends and holidays.

Must have dependable transportation

Other duties as assigned



Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 years of experience in a medical clinical setting. Occupational medicine setting preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Outlook, word and excel for data analysis.
  • Competency using industry specific software.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently, as well as be part of a team.
  • Must demonstrate a great work ethic.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organized.

Physical Demands: Sitting for prolonged periods of time, lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 30 pounds. Repetitive motion. Extensive use of computers and keyboard. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading. Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to lift and small carry parcels, packages and other items, to walk short distances, the ability to climb stairs, and drive a vehicle to deliver and pick up materials. 

Mental Requirements: Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, make timely decisions in the context of a workflow, ability to communicate with employees and visitors, ability to complete tasks in situations that have a speed or productivity quota. Position Unit: - Non-Exempt: Hourly
