Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is looking for a Procurement Field Representative to support the 787 Delivery Center based out of North Charleston, South Carolina.

Successful candidates will:

• Be able to work in a cross functional environment where critical thinking and decision making determines the success of the team
• Work under minimal supervision leading suppliers through critical flight and customer milestones  
• Have an overall technical understanding of all open work on the aircraft they are assigned  
• Be able to identify when a burndown plan is required, create it, and communicate it to suppliers and stakeholders impacted 

Position Responsibilities:

• Monitors emergent offload/overload suppliers including processors, philanthropic, machine shop and sheet metal shop to ensure schedule compliance and product conformity
• Identifies, establishes and maintains priorities for deliveries of products, services and data that support necessary supplier contractual corrective actions and resolution of issues (e.g., poor schedule performance, product and producibility issues) to ensure contractual compliance
• Communicates across functions (e.g., procurement agents, suppliers, internal customers, field quality, engineering, manufacturing) to report status and concerns
• Co-facilitates with the supplier the development of a recovery plan and unplanned demand requirements
• Identifies needs for training on business and manufacturing practices (e.g., requirements interpretation and clarification, contractual compliance, scheduling tools, technical skills, self-assessment) to supplier personnel for improvement or enhancement delivery performance
• Participates with the procurement agent in on-site supplier assessments (e.g., Preferred Supplier Certification, Proof of Process and Rate Readiness) to identify supplier capacity and capability to perform current and projected work statement and support Boeing procurement strategy
• Monitors suppliers' performance-to-plan to ensure compliance to contractual requirements and provides status back to supervisor and procurement agent
• Identifies and communicates opportunities to implement new processes or improves existing processes and reports back to management and make recommendation to procurement agent
• Assesses supplier resource plan and reports results to supervisor/procurement agent
• Supports work movement as requested by supervision

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• 3+ years of Procurement / Supply Chain/Operations experience
• 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor’s degree or higher
• Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience
• 787 Program Experience
• Experience in a team environment
• Team Leadership (Formal/Informal) experience

Typical Education/Experience: 

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+4 years' related work experience, 10 years' related work experience, etc.).

Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master+8 years' related work experience, 14 years' related work experience, etc.).
