Repairs and maintains facility, machinery, buildings and equipment used in the production of Acetylene gas. Partners with internal and external customers to answer technical questions with Airgas equipment. Responsible for keeping the plant in compliance with Safecor and DOT regulations by performing the following responsibilities.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

  • Responsible for adherence to company policies including safety and the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Installs, extracts, inspects, troubleshoots and repairs bulk tanks, valves, pumps, generators, and performs operational tests after installation.

  • Operates and safely maintains equipment for pumping or repackaging gasses into cylinders.

  • Regularly inspects and maintains pumping apparatus, tanks, and valves and associated monitoring devices.

  • Answers technical questions from internal or external sources.

  • Ensures any accident or injury is promptly reported to management.

  • Conducts periodic checks of the Plant for safe and efficient operations.

  • Operates a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment as needed.

  • Maintains neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.

  • May operate a vehicle to travel to Airgas sites to work on equipment as needed.

  • Repairs and maintains equipment in the plant such as compressors, scrubbers, instrument panels, and electrical equipment, following blueprints, P&ID’s, and maintenance manuals, using hand tools, welding equipment, and testing instruments.

  • Tests equipment to locate causes of trouble, using standard test meters.

  • Dismantles equipment using hand tools and power tools.

  • Welds, brazes, and solders parts as needed.

  • Repairs and replaces pipes and equipment, using pipefitting tools.

  • Repairs and adjusts instrument control panels, motors, switches, and other  equipment. Repacks compressors and pumps.

  • May operate metalworking tools to make and repair parts.

  • Changes filtration materials as required and updates maintenance request tools.

  • Performs all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with all federal, state, local and DOT regulations.

  • Maintains neat, clean and professional personal appearance, and maintains vehicle appearance in a professional manner.

Are you a MATCH?

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience and education is preferred.

  • Industry experience is preferred.

  • Competent in plumbing, carpentry and masonry work.

  • Experience working with electrical circuits, motors, compressors, pumps and drives in an industrial setting.

  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.

  • Must be able to work occasional overtime to keep the plant running with limited downtown.

  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.

The hourly base pay range for this position in California is $38.00/hr. -$41.00/hr. Please note that the hourly base pay information is a general guideline only. A
