Business Analyst (Contract / Freelance, 6 months)

Job Summary

*This role is a contract position for a 6 month period with potential to extend. We are interested in freelancers (1099) or those operating under an LLC (Tax ID required) only.*

Our Product team is seeking a skilled and experienced Business Analyst to play a key role in new and exciting initiatives. This person will play a key role in our Next Generation Product development process as we work to improve our community insights platform and build out a client portal. The ideal candidate will be responsible for gathering and analyzing business requirements, documenting them, and communicating them effectively to the product management and development team.  

What You’ll Do

• Collaborate with the Product Manager to identify, and prioritize business requirements
• Analyze and document business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories
• Participate in the testing and validation of new features and functionality
• Conduct research and gather data to support product decision-making
• Participate in product roadmap planning, contribute to overall product strategy, groom product backlog
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and clients to ensure alignment and understanding of project goals and requirements
• Test and validate that work meets business requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience
• Knowledge/expertise in Agile and scrum methodologies, experience running sprint ceremonies
• Proficient in Teams, Jira and Confluence software
• Ability to handle multiple projects at once
• Excellent communication skills, ability to interface with internal and external stakeholders and act as a liaison between business stakeholders and engineering team
• Ability to write clear and concise documentation, facilitate meetings and present information
• Ability to analyze complex problems and solve them in a timely and effective way, as well as identify opportunities for process improvement
