Clinical Support ServicesOverview of Position:
Sits with the patient and maintains safety under the supervision of a licensed healthcare worker. Adheres to standard precautions.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Sits with and observes assigned patients to ensure needs are met.
2. Recognizes and reports information to a licensed healthcare worker.
3. Reports any potentially dangerous behavior to unit staff immediately.
4. Communicates/utilizes good customer service skills when interacting with families.
5. Does not leave assigned patient unattended.
6. Maintains patient’s privacy at all times.
7. Understands role and may assist staff with some direct patient care.

9. Tasking as assigned by charge nurse
• Remove trash and linen from patient rooms
• Stock Isolation gowns and linens in server drawers
• Help patients order meals
• Pass out newspapers
• Pass water
• Stock the drink stations and help keep coffee machines clean and emptied
• Clean and disinfect respirators
• Strip beds, take dirty equipment to dirty utility room
• Help transport when they are behind taking patients to the discharge lobby
• Answer call light – vocera staff
• Answer phones
• Tear down discharge charts
• Put together new charts
• Clean dirty utility rooms by taking trash and linens to shoots
10. Demonstrates a high degree of flexibility by floating to all areas according to tier level.
11. Assigned hours are badged to appropriate nursing cost center.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalency required.
2. Current CPR certification.
3. Must have excellent communication skills.
4. Ability to read, write, explain or describe information to hospital staff.
5. Attention to detail, able to observe and report findings.
6. Ability to provide for patients’ safety and communicate with family members in a warm and friendly manner.
