Job Description Summary:

The PayPal AI Tech Platform team is building a world class end-to-end AI/ML platform to scale up AI/ML solution development at PayPal, enabling intelligent decision making in everything we do. As a key software engineer in the team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling platforms and MLOps functionality supporting the platform and customer needs.

You thrive on the challenge of building and optimizing platforms at scale, are deeply passionate about leveraging cutting-edge technologies, and are dedicated to innovation and market success. Your role will involve leveraging your technical expertise and practical experience in AI and machine learning, with a focus on online real-time intelligent decision-making and inference platforms. You will be responsible for designing and developing the platform to enable data scientists and ML solution engineers to build and deliver AI/ML solutions in a self-service manner.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, data scientists, and software engineers to define platform requirements and priorities.
• Design scalable and efficient platform infrastructure that enables data scientists to build, deploy, and monitor machine learning solutions end-to-end.
• Ensure high code quality, performance, and reliability through rigorous testing, code reviews, and adherence to software development best practices.
• Drive innovation by researching and incorporating state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, tools, and frameworks into the platform.
• Strong communication, listening, interpersonal, influencing, and alignment driving skills; able to convey important messages in a clear manner
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI/ML technology and industry trends, and leverage this knowledge to enhance the platform's capabilities.

What you need to bring

• 3+ years experience in the Backend Software Engineering role.
• Masters / Bachelor’s in computer science, Computer engineering, Machine Learning, or related disciplines, with technical expertise in one or more of the above-mentioned areas or equivalent practical experience.
• Solid track record of over-achieving engineering and platform delivery and scaling targets in high volume, innovative, and fast-paced high-pressure environment; proven results in delivery the platform products.
• Familiar with AI/ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques, with hands-on experience in delivering AI/ML solutions.
