Job Description:

We are seeking a Junior Commercial Contracts Lawyer to join our growing team and support client engagements across diverse sectors, including construction, manufacturing, telecommunications, utilities, and education. This role is ideal for a dynamic legal professional with under 5 years of post-qualification experience who brings strong commercial contracting skills and industry-specific knowledge. The successful candidate will provide end-to-end legal support on high-volume contract workflows and collaborate with client legal teams to shape contractual strategies in fast-paced, evolving environments.

 

Responsibilities:

• Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts including NDAs, MSAs, distribution, SaaS, supply, licensing, and service agreements.
• Provide legal counsel on commercial terms, risk mitigation, and contract compliance.
• Support clients in industries such as construction (including AIA forms, leases, easements, and land usage agreements), manufacturing (across any industry), and education (including ed tech and institutional agreements).
• Collaborate with client stakeholders to align contract terms with operational and business goals.
• Assist with CLM system implementation, contract database management, and template development.
• Stay informed on industry-specific regulations, trends, and international legal considerations.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

• JD or equivalent with active bar membership in good standing.
• At least 2 years of in-house experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of commercial law, with an emphasis on practical, business-oriented legal advice.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to manage priorities independently in a remote setting.
• Exposure to international contracting environments preferred.

 

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with construction, telecom, utilities, or manufacturing industries.
• Background in CLM implementation and contract operations.
• Experience drafting or negotiating agreements related to education institutions or ed tech.
• Familiarity with AIA contract forms and land-related agreements.
• Prior in-house experience at a telecommunications company is a strong plus.

 

Compensation, Benefits & Location:  

This role offers a range of competitive compensation starting at $120,000, and a highly competitive benefits package in the alternative legal services marketplace that includes health benefits, 401k, and more.
