The Quality Inspector - Finished Goods is primarily responsible for assuring the quality of finished products using visual criteria, as well as Inspection, Measurement, and Test Equipment (IMTE). Visual inspection will be performed on finished products in order to ensure product conformance to customer specifications. The inspection and quality control will be primarily performed within a cleanroom environment for therapy delivery products, but may include additional finished product inspection as needed. IMTE use may include calipers, pin gauges, optical comparators, multi-meters and other inspection equipment. This position assures product conformance for dimensional, electrical, and visual workmanship standards in accordance with customer requirements.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Uses IMTE equipment to verify product conformance to mechanical and electrical acceptance requirements.

· Uses visual means to verify product conformance to released specification revision.

· Communicates effectively, determines and assesses measurement methods in relation to design intent.

· Is self-motivated, ability to work independently, and function as an effective team member.

· Reads and understands engineering prints, dimensioning and tolerancing principles.

· Reviews and documents within a Device History Record the ability of the product to meet requirements.

· Perform data entry and/or report writing.

· Demonstrates safe work habits, maintains clean and safe work area.

· Willingness to provide and receive constructive input and feedback.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

· High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one-year related experience and/or training desired

· Working knowledge of visual medical device inspection

· Prior Quality Inspection experience required

· Prior experience and familiarity with therapy delivery products

· Prior experience within a cleanroom environment, including gowning

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to read technical drawings and follow inspection plans.

· Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) – willing to train.

· LANGUAGE SKILLS:

o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret instructions, inspection criteria, and engineering drawings that are in English. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers.

· MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

· REASONING ABILITY:

o Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· COMPUTER SKILLS:

o To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of: Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); InView Software and Time Reporting Software (ATR).
