Job Summary

The Category Development Specialist supports managers with daily activities that support operations related to category development. Duties include working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and supplier base within assigned categories, delivering insights and recommendations to drive category development processes, along with providing quotations and placing Purchase Orders in support of all Compass Sectors. This role is supporting Canteen – Office Coffee Solutions and Vending. This person should be located in the Charlotte, NC area. 

 

Responsibilities:
•    Support required internal processes including ordering, pricing, product recommendations, etc. 
•    Provide analytics and support for the development of category plans, joint business plans/reviews, and presentation materials for key strategic supplier and customer partnerships
•    Liaison with cross-functional groups to ensure timely catalog pricing, and other system needs
•    Complete system data accuracy and maintenance - price releases, price audits, non-transactional, and supplier/manufacturer catalogs.
•    Ensure excellent execution of programs and teams required processes

 

Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
•    Effective written and verbal communication skills
•    Sense of urgency and excellent customer service skills
•    Ability to extract insights from complex data sets using advanced excel skills
•    Ability to manage complex competing priorities with strict deadlines and attention to detail
