About the role

Job Summary: 

The Associate Manager, Retail Marketing (NARS) drives the development and implementation of marketing strategies to build brand awareness and drive traffic in Ulta and Department Store accounts with the goal to maximize growth potential, fuel long term profitability and build brand equity on the NARS brand. The Associate Manager will lead activations by leveraging global innovation and assets, analytics, consumer data, competitive research, and retailer relationships, focusing on priority accounts.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of marketing plans, sampling strategy, VM updates, promotional activities, and product launches in Ulta and Department Stores
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to prioritize and gain support for retailer initiatives, exclusives, sampling, and collateral needs for US launches.
  • Manage Market Week presentation, product comp distribution, and gratis.
  • Co-lead weekly retailer calls in partnership with Director of Sell-in and Director of Retail Marketing with goal of effectively maintaining merchant/buyer relationships.
  • Contribute to retailer and internal meeting preparation including gathering necessary information, creating agendas, leading discussions, and managing follow ups in partnership with Retail Marketing team.
  • Create, prepare, and maintain marketing, merchandising calendars and sampling plans.
  • Collaborate with Global Marketing and Product Development to calendarize US specific value sets and bundles for grab & go bins and exclusive offerings.
  • Manage visual merchandising creative direction and product assortments, partnering with U.S VM manager to brief and route all merchandising materials/copy/layouts for approval.
  • Conduct assortment rationalization and SKU management processes on Ulta gondola and Nordstrom open sell to maintain healthy productivity in-store.
  • Lead organization and planning of large-scale retailer events such as Ulta FLC.
  • Oversee item setup process and accurate add-delete forms for open sell accounts.
  • Analyze new launch and marketing program performance to deliver both quantitative and qualitative feedback to measure ROI for future enhancements.
  • Monitor best practices in Beauty and Luxury sector, identify opportunities in design, product, and branding initiatives.
  • Assist in management of pre-series forecasting and distribution as well as U.S Marketing product closet inventory.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • 3-5 years experience in marketing, preferably in beauty
  • Bachelor Degree in Marketing or related field required. MBA a plus
  • Exceptional analytical skills and financial acumen
  • Must have a proven track record in successfully launching new products and executing innovative marketing plans
  • Must have strong leadership skills and ability to work with people from cross functional departments - dynamic, flexible, positive attitude
  • Ability to drive change through strong negotiation skills
  • Organization and prioritization with a proven ability to multi-task and manage complexity
  • Passion for beauty
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge on current marketing trends, media industry news, entertainment/pop culture and retail innovation    
  • Proficient in Excel, Power Point, Word
