Construction Inspector

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Construction Inspector for our Kansas City, MO office. This candidate will be involved in projects with our Wichita, Kansas City, and Topeka Construction Management Team, and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.
Your Impact
- Support our effort to grow our engineering and field services team in Kansas.
- Ensure daily contract compliance to project plans and specifications on construction projects and maintaining documentation to support quality specifications, payment, and project acceptance.
- Gather material tickets, and tracking material quantities on construction project for plan compliance and contractor pay.
- Communicate with engineering team, management, contractors and vendors. -
- Perform material testing and document results.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs

Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Minimum of 5 years experience.
- Familiarity with KDOT, County, and Local Municipality policies and procedures.
- Ability to obtain KDOT and other inspection certifications for construction services.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to include technical writing and oral communication.
- Ability to work as a team.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policy.
- Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Coursework in construction and engineering
- Road and Bridge Construction Experience
