Here’s a Glimpse of the Job

The Research Technician I, under general supervision, performs entry‑level, semi‑skilled technical support work involving the routine operation, maintenance, and preparation of laboratory equipment, materials, and workspaces. This role supports research activities by carrying out standard laboratory procedures, assisting with data collection, providing basic technical support to students and staff, and ensuring compliance with established safety protocols. The position involves learning and performing foundational research techniques, contributing to day‑to‑day lab operations, and supporting ongoing experiments while developing skills necessary for more advanced research responsibilities.

Opportunities to Contribute

  • Sets up, operates, and maintains laboratory equipment and computer systems, providing technical and logistical support as needed.

  • Manages laboratory inventory and procures parts and supplies to support ongoing operations.

  • Ensures laboratory spaces meet OSHA safety standards and performs routine cleaning and maintenance of lab and prep areas.

  • Supports senior staff and students in conducting research and field experiments, including contributing to procedure development.

  • Recruits, screens, and maintains records for research study participants.

  • Engages in ongoing training and professional development to support laboratory and research operations.

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma.

  • Two years of related experience.

  • Ability to life and/or move medium weight objects.

Salary: $15.85 per hour
